Gallery Ambassador - Currently Hiring!

General Summary:
The Gallery Ambassador is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting with purchases, managing class scheduling, and maintaining the gallery's cleanliness. The primary goal is to build positive customer relationships, uphold a professional environment, and contribute to sales goals.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Provide excellent customer service in person, via phone, and through digital communication.
Greet and assist customers in the gallery and on-site.
Offer information about products, techniques, and glass art history.
Meet and exceed sales targets for artwork, classes, custom orders, and tools.
Pack and inventory class products.
Schedule and register customers for classes.
Follow up with class customers to encourage continued learning.
Serve as the main point of contact for general customer inquiries.
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the gallery and studio.
Demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude towards colleagues and the employer.
Maintain a polished and professional appearance.
Perform other job-related duties as required.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Proficiency in basic computer software (Email, Word, Excel) and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
Eagerness to learn about, sell, and discuss Boise Art Glass products, design, and the art of glasswork.
Ability to meet the physical demands described in the Working Conditions section.
Flexibility to work a schedule based on Boise Art Glass's needs.
Basic math skills for cash register transactions.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
General knowledge of sales and fine arts preferred.
At least 2 years of experience in sales, customer service, or a related field preferred.
Expected Work Hours:
20-30 hours per week, between 10 am and 6 pm, with potential for negotiation after a probationary period.
Scheduling may vary Monday through Saturday, with occasional evening events.
Must be a team player to accommodate customer, sales, and class scheduling needs.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Ability to use a computer while on the phone and interacting with gallery visitors.
Frequent speaking, listening, sitting, and use of hands/fingers for computer work and handling/packaging glass art.
Standing and walking for extended periods.
Bending, stooping, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
Ability to work in varying temperatures, including heat.
Ability to handle fragile merchandise.

Benefits are voluntary and available upon hiring.
Starting Wage:
$14/hour for a 90-day probationary period, then increasing to $15/hour with opportunities for advancement.
